The purpose of Vinyasa practice is to link breath to movement and create awareness in each movement and transition. In this class, we will be moving with the breath to open the body mindfully. We will begin with warming the body by linking the inhales and exhales using simple stretches, incorporating variations on the Sun Salutation sequence. Through the main and most challenging part of the practice we will hold some of the postures for several breaths as we work on alignment, endurance, and flexibility. We close with easy reclined, restorative postures and deep relaxation. This class incorporates elements of the traditional Astanga series and the Jivamukti method. Everyone is welcome to join this practice. You will be challenged but your efforts will be rewarded with a whole mess of love at the end.
